Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays that people either really love or really hate. The haters in a relationship go on and on about being forced to show love and appreciation by consumerism or if they’re not in a relationship, they can’t stand being reminded of how single they are. Me? I’m a lover not a hater! I think Valentine’s is a great reminder in our super crazy busy lives to slow down and spread the good vibes. And I don’t limit this to my Handsome Man either. It’s my day to text, gift, call, or remember my mom, in-laws, siblings, kids, spouse, friends, teachers…everyone! Are you single? Think of your co-workers, neighbors, or roommates! Married? You better be thinking of your spouse that day. But seriously, I get the whole, “Hallmark is screaming cheesy, annoying clichés at me!” (Side note: Hallmark can scream annoying clichés at me all day long in the new episodes of When Calls the Heart!). Or maybe you can’t stand the thought of your relationship falling prey to commercialization, maybe Christmas, but NEVER your marriage! Really though, when was the last time you brought your wife flowers? Or chocolate? Or a lovely note? Or a pedicure? Or a book? Or shopping spree? (BTW Handsome Man: these are all things I would want…especially the book and pedicure) Maybe you’re awesome at showing people love on a regular basis and I’m preaching to the choir, but for those who struggle to find balance, myself included, who cares what reminds you to take care of people? Better Valentine’s Day, or a blog post, or a reminder in your phone than a marriage counselor am I right? Because I also love all of my clients and feel it is my solemn duty as a florist to keep all men out of the doghouse on February 14th (and because my husband’s student loans are NEVER ENDING), I’ve put together a lovely assortment of products for you to order! Without further ado: Chocolate-Covered Strawberries: Ripe strawberries dipped in high-quality milk chocolate. Smooth, creamy chocolate with the perfect burst of fresh fruit! They come pre-packaged, decorated, and ready to gift. 4 Strawberries: $8 Aren't these little ladies lovely? And because they come in packages of four, they are the perfect serving size...three for me and 1 for him :) And yes, I totally know that there are 6 picture here and not four. Work with me. Valentine’s Dessert Cake: Flavorful triple-layer chocolate cake frosted in pink frosting and garnished with rich chocolate ganache and chocolate dipped strawberries. These are perfect for a family Valentine’s dinner!
I whipped up this cake so that you guys could have an idea of the deliciousness, and then I looked at it and realized my butt was getting bigger just thinking about eating it, so off it went to the next door neighbors who have 6 kids to help them eat it. My sweet neighbor texted later and said all her kids were in a lovely food coma after eating this chocolate cake. So, that basically means this cake will make your kids sleep through the night right?!?! If you have a fussy baby who won't sleep at night, it may be worth revisiting that whole pediatrician-recommended "no sugar before a year" thing. Fresh Floral Bouquet: A large, fragant mix of a half-dozen, long-stem roses, flowers, and greens wrapped up in a beautiful bouquet and ready to gift. Flowers will be a mix of a traditional Valentine’s red, pink, and white color palette.
I wish you could take a big whiff through the monitor and smell the loveliness! Guys, I seriously got all teary-eyed the last time my husband surprised me with flowers. He doesn't do it all that often because HE feels like bringing flowers to a florist is kind of like bringing earthworms to a farmer, but I LOVE getting flowers!
How to Order: You can order any or all of the following by e-mailing me at [email protected], using the Contact Us page on this website, or messaging me on The Pear Blossom’s Facebook page. I will not accept comments below as an actual order, although you are welcome to comment on this post! Those lucky enough to have my phone number can call or text to place an order. I AM ACCEPTING ORDERS UNTIL FEBRUARY 10TH! Gasp! What?!?! I have to PLAN???? The answer, dear friends, is yes! It takes planning and time to get supplies, make cakes, order flowers, and package your pretties. If you wait until February 12th to call me, I’m going to say in my sweetest Mommy voice that your lack of planning does not equate to my emergency. You may get lucky and find that I still have some supplies left. Or you may be S.O.L. and have to go to a big box and get…duhn duhn duhn…grocery store flowers :( *Ugh. Just e-mail or call the second you read this post and then you can give yourself a million points and a gigantic air-five that you’ve got Valentine’s Day and life all figured out. Pick up and Payment: Pick up will be February 13th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at my home. I’m not available for delivery this year, so it is pick-up only. Also, because Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday this year and that is a family/religious day for my family and me, I won’t be working on the actual day of. That means all product will have to be picked up on February 13th during those hours. Payment is payable by cash or a check made out to either Emily White or The Pear Blossom and is due at time of pick-up. Hope this answers all of your questions! If not, feel free to leave a question in the comments section below or contact me via any of the aforementioned ways! Enjoy!
