A Christmas Wedding Inspiration Roundup!
When my 8-year old daughter asked for the following items in her letter to Santa:
I would love to say that I was some rock star parent who then made her daughter donate bags of clothes and toys in order to teach her to be grateful for what she had. Or made her go do hours of manual labor or service and give to others, but I didn’t. Partly because I’m tired and freak there’s a lot to do during the three weeks before Christmas. And partly because my sweet little girl honestly shared her hopes and dreams with me and with Santa and was brave and authentic. So, even if the list scares the beejeebies out of me as a parent, I went with the route of being a listener. I listened to those crazy, out there dreams and then tried to gently remind her that Santa wasn’t going to break our family rules and bring her tablets and phones that he knows her parents don’t allow, and I tried to guide her towards some more age appropriate ideas (and then I complained to my mom and girlfriends about my crazy kid who thinks she’s going to get plane tickets and Disneyland tickets for Christmas…in your dreams honey!). I guess I’ll have to work on instant gratification, selfishness, and raising grateful, unspoiled children next year...*sigh
So, this year is gonna be what it’s gonna be and in an effort to cheer myself up and get back in the Christmas spirit, I looked at styled Christmas wedding inspiration. Nothing makes me heart go pitter-patter like weddings. I love seeing people in love. I love the beautiful decorations, the special clothes and food, and seeing friends and family come together to celebrate such a major life event. Truly, love is the most powerful gift in this world. Even the very first gift of Christmas was a gift of love. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.” –John 3:16 (King James version). And in a way, Christmas is the ultimate celebration of this love. We pull out our special clothes and recipes, we decorate our houses, share gifts of love and gratitude, remember those who are gone, forgive others, and rekindle family relationships. See? Christmas and weddings go hand in hand. When we say “I do” to that certain special someone, we are giving the greatest gift of love we can share with someone.
And to show you how perfect Christmas and weddings are for each other, I’ve rounded up some of the most gorgeous styled Christmas wedding inspiration from around the web and I’m sharing it here with you. May the joy and love of the Christmas season fill your hearts…and maybe even your boyfriend’s heart so that he buys you a ring :)
This first shoot was done right here in Utah and was designed and photographed by the talented Amber Lynn Photography and featured on Wedding Chicks! If I were doing a Christmas wedding, this is exactly what I would want. It’s the quintessential Christmas wedding look incorporating a gorgeous berry red and evergreen color palette and has the ‘just right’ touches of nature without looking artificial and overdone. And I love the cozy, romantic touches throughout the entire shoot and how the designer incorporated some fabulous textiles to create that cozy feel. I’ve made sure to include a little sampling here, but for sure follow this link to see all the images and a full list of vendors. It will make your Grinchy heart grow at least 3 sizes :)

Cake: Once Upon a Cake Co. (For the record: I love this cake. So much.)
If you’re less organic/woodsy and more elegant, you will want to catch this beautifully styled Elegant Holiday Wedding Inspiration featured on Style Me Pretty. I fell hard for the florals in this shoot, especially the backdrop! I would definitely be willing to brave the cold to get married beneath that bridal arch. I’m also a total sucker for the bridal style in this shoot. Her dress and hair are simple but timeless and elegant, which makes the bridal inspiration complete angelic and feminine beauty. Then pair it with the muted tones and you can see why this was such an inspiration to me! Be sure to check out the entire shoot and all the vendors here.
After living in Germany for 18 months as a representative for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, nothing makes me more homesick for Europe than Christmastime. Christmas in Germany is magical and when that first snow falls each year, the Fernweh (that's German for the opposite of homesickness – longing for a place that is far away) grips my heart and leaves me missing my beautiful second home, language, and family and all of the traditions and memories we created during the two Christmases I lived there. So, imagine my glee and giddiness when I stumbled onto this Swedish-inpsired Styled Christmas Wedding on Green Wedding Shoes!
The designer, Heather with Amorology, celebrated the Swedish holiday Santa Lucia Day in her own home and brought in so many personal, culturally authentic touches to this shoot. From the perfect Swedish-inspired textiles, to the dala horses thoughout, this shoot had me reminiscing about all the magic of Christmas in Europe: Christmas markets, meter-long bratwurst, hand-carved nutcrackers and rauchermaenner, and amazing Christmas cookies (you haven’t seen Christmas cookies until you’ve been in Germany during Christmas!). If you love all things Europe like I do, then this shoot and all the talented vendors can't be missed.
And is it just me or do these little boutonnieres totally spell 'JOY'?!?! Maybe it's all in my head, but it makes me happy, so it must be there...and now that I've said something I know you're going to notice it too, because that's just how that works and you'll never be able to un-see it. You're welcome :)
Wishing all of you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a season full of love, joy, and peace in our Lord and Savior!
